Annual Brokerage Awards
It was a day full of professional achievement, David Mussari’s stand-up comedy and plenty of awards given to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Professional Realty’s finest. David kicked off the brokerage’s annual awards the best way he knew how; with a black wig and a loud “woohoo” to get the crowd pumped up. It was without telling that this bunch of professionals knew the treat they were in for yesterday afternoon.
BHHS Professional Realty’s Kim Luckow and the operations team puts together this awards ceremony every year making it bigger and better than the year before. The event was held in the grand ballroom of the Ohio Union on the Ohio State University’s campus. Empty round tables filled the large space as attendees networked prior to receiving their cue to flood the ballroom floor.
Light cocktails and finger foods kept the brokerage affiliates occupied as they reconnected and created both old and new professional relationships. During the networking hour, we asked a few professionals to describe BHHS Professional Realty with one word. Here's what they had to say about the brokerage.
By 11:15am the crowd was in their seats prepared to celebrate the brokerage’s many successes in 2017. Mussari reflected on the accomplishments of teams, individual professionals and BHHS Professional Realty as one collective family. If you missed out on the award occasion; we have you covered! Here are all the highlights from yesterday’s awards ceremony.
As two bridges crashed on the screen during Mussari’s special introduction, it all became clear... somewhat. The theme for this year’s awards ceremony was building bridges. Later words from Heather Zimmaro encouraged all in attendance to build those bridges connecting the next step in their career by receiving proper professional training. With her advice came the announcement of Craig Augberger as BHHS Professional Realty’s Success Coach.
Many special guests made an appearance at this years awards. Vice President of Franchise Sales, Keith Smith, and President at Prudential Real Estate Affiliates Inc., Rosalie Warner, were in attendance. BHHS President and CEO, Gino Blefari, made a video appearance revealing the brokerages many accomplishments (and spoiling all of David’s lines).
Mussari kept it lighthearted in BHHS Professional Realty fashion with special appearances from old man Steve and the banana phone as well as his three granddaughters who thought “Burger Hathaway” was a more suitable name for the brokerage.
Professionals also heard from Craig Pollack with Social Survey as he awarded the top 10 agents who used the tool in 2017. Rhonda Chambal took home the honor of #1 Social Survey user and Carrie Robins was recognized for over 80% survey completion by clients. The brokerage received a 53% completion rate by all agent's clients for 2017.
Seth Task, OAR’s back to back agent of the year, as well as Kelly McCormick, the Director of DABR, both spoke briefly stressing the importance of agents donating to OAR.
Amazon’s Alexa made an appearance showing off her skills to professionals and casually revealing her “big crush” on Mark Kline. Alexa wasn’t the only voice that stole the show. Every BHHS Professional Realty Business Coordinator walked away with an Echo as their new personal assistant.
The brokerage payed tribute to the two lives lost within the BHHS Professional Realty family in the past year. Mussari reflected on his time spent with John and Gale sharing stories about each with the crowd. He asked each attendee to reflect on their "Why?" in life by ending the morning half of the ceremony with:
All of those in attendance socialized amongst themselves while enjoying the fabulous catered lunch the Ohio Union provided. They chowed down on salad, pasta, chicken and steak to get energized for the second half of the event which was action packed with awards. Live voting began from their phones for one of the 19 BHHS Professional Realty state maps decorated by participants within the brokerage. The winning map was from the Mentor office and it featured a light-up center around the brokerage name.
During the morning portion, Billie Carrico from the Xenia office was announced Rookie of the Year... about 5 different times due to Mussari's clicker problems. Breanna Miller received the honors of runner-up in what was a very hard decision between the two agents. The Legend Award was given to select individuals who hit five year milestones within the Chairman's Circle of Excellence. The longest milestone was Erma Armstrong who has been in the profession for 50 years.
The afternoon portion of awards was kicked off with recognition of the brokerage's 7 core values. Several men and women received nominations by their peers for one of the core values. The winners of each value is as follows:
Following the value awards, the Circle of Achievement award was given to over 30 individuals in the company. The brokerage also announced those award winners for the prestigious Leading Edge Society, President's Circle and Chairman's Circle honors. The final awards given recognized the Top 10 Teams & Individual Agents of 2017.
Building the final bridge in this year's ceremony, Barbara Babcock, Director of Market Development for Cleveland, was awarded 2017's Difference Maker.
As the annual awards concluded, all those in attendance kicked back and relaxed for a final recap video of 2017.
The brokerage would like to again congratulate all the award recipients and thank each and every professional who contributes to the success of BHHS Professional Realty.
We would also like to thank our vendors for their support and dedication to this year's brokerage awards.
