Summer Event Series: The Farrah Rudd Team
Our second feature in the summer event series sheds light on how our agents provide support to local organizations bettering the community. If you missed last week's highlight of Gahanna agents giving back, click here.
This past Wednesday, June 27, the Farrah Rudd Team of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Professional Realty- Mason took to the green for their second annual golf outing. The outing benefited the Abuse & Rape Crisis Shelter (ARCS) of Warren County in a community effort led by survivor, Farrah Rudd, to raise money for the shelter. The shelter provides support to those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.
With storm clouds ahead eagerly holding off, the Heatherwoode Golf Club welcomed 75 golfers and 85 total attendees - doubling last year’s attendance - for a day of golf, steak dinner and giving back. The team donated over $2500 after expenses last year. This year, they are hoping to clear around $6000 when the final numbers come back.
The Farrah Rudd team of Julius Moreland, Nicole Sanders, Angelia Moreland, Kailee Getz and Farrah Rudd welcomed Minnesota Vikings NFL Coach, Mike Zimmer, to the Heatherwoode Golf Club for the event. Zimmer is a long time friend of Farrah’s and auctioned off a signed NFL Vikings ball that raised over $500 alone. Zimmer also greeted golfers with a photo and signature under the “Vikings Cove” VIP Tent Entrance.
Once golfers arrived at the course they were provided drink tickets for the outing. A full day of golf was followed by a steak dinner at the club where the Director of ARCS, Jane Conn, gave a very impactful speech sharing the story of a boy who called the shelter his favorite home. Farrah Rudd also expressed her gratefulness to attendees as a survivor.
In a past Facebook live post to friends and family, Farrah shared what this event and the Warren County Rape & Abuse Shelter means to her.
“I truly feel humbled by the amount of love in our community. I love being a resident in Warren County, Ohio,” Farrah said. “Yesterday at the golf outing dinner I mentioned how important it is for us to see someone in need and lift them up rather than looking down on them. As a team that remains one of our many goals.”
Farrah has been putting on charity events for over 20 years, but this golf outing has grown near and dear to her heart. She acquired a spot on the shelter’s board after reaching out as a volunteer so it was only right that she donate all profits to the ARCS. Farrah is a prime example of the willingness our agents express to go above and beyond their work in the community.
“My heart bleeds for children abused and neglected,” Farrah said. “If you have a gift in life you should be using it. These events are not difficult for me to pull together so I just can’t see myself not using that gift.”
A special "thank you" from Farrah:
Thank you to every person & company that helped us reach our goal. Thank you to Andy George with George & Underwood LLP. who is one of the first to say yes time after time. Coach Zimmer, I respect you more than you know. You have such a pure, giving heart and I’m proud to call you my friend.
The impact from ARCS is felt, as you can see. Jane is all class & I’m so thankful to have her as a mentor, whether she knows that or not.
I will never stop giving back to the community in which I reside and I’m confident my team feels the same way; It’s part of who we are! I’m so grateful God has placed a fire inside me for leadership & my team fans that flame. Thank you Nicole, Julius, Angelia & Kailee - We did it!
